Jesus can be known...!!!  It is our intention that everything on this site will encourage you in this truth. Having been born again, you have been given all the spiritual equipment you'll ever need to see, hear, and know Him.  The Spirit of Jesus Christ has been deposited into your heart for the express purpose of revealing Jesus!  You have been granted the greatest gift of all...the grace to recognize that in comparison to knowing Him everything else on this planet will pale in significance.  Allow the wonder of this to impact absolutely everything you think and do!

Paul describes this well:

2 Corinthians 2:14 But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.

Now there's a life vision, there is the reason you have been left in this challenging world.  This defines your call and your destiny.  To take what we know of Jesus Christ, and share that with as many people on this planet as God wills, and with those who desire to know Him.

Connect this with Paul's statement of our part in God's Eternal Purpose, and we are sure to discover our truest purpose in life:

Ephesians 3:9 ...to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ; 10 to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, 11 according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord,...

He is wonderful, and because He can be known we invite you to Know Him Together with us!

Of all the things our lives can be about, we have settled that coming to know Jesus Christ is the thing which most defines who we are, and we invite you to know Him together with us, and to visit us often. Come Dialogue and Pray with us, receive Weekly Insights, enjoy the various elements of the site, whether it be ArticlesMP3s, Blogs, Videos, or any of the other resources.  We are here to Know Him Together with you.  At the bottom of the Home page, main menu, is a "Login Form."  At the bottom of that box click the word "Register."  We invite you to register, which will let us get to know you, and will grant permissions for adding comments to blog articles we post, as well as post prayer requests.  We do not sell email addresses, or send along unwanted junk mail.

You will quickly be able to tell, when it comes to our understanding of Church, we believe the Lord is calling His people towards the more simple and small settings where folks can get together, dialogue, pray, listen to and worship Him, while trusting His leadership in their midst. But, having said that, we believe the emphasis of our lives is to be far more leaned towards knowing Him, than building any movements, rejecting any movements that exist, or dividing the body into yet another sect or schism. Some have asked us if we are connected to the House Church movement.  We prefer to present ourselves "for" things we see in Christ and a biblical Church, than "for" any particular movement or "against" others in the body of Christ, who see things differently. We're bold about what we believe, but honoring of others who see things differently. Until we all come to the unity of faith, and full agreement with Jesus, we promote unity in the midst of diversity. As Paul says it in Ephesians 4:3 We are eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, and in Acts 20:27 for I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God. We’re captivated by Him, not movements, ideas, or the traditions of man. He is enough!

I love how Paul says it:

Philippians 3:7 But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. 8 Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith-- 10 that I may know Him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.

If God were to so lead, we would be happy to come to your area, and encourage you in the discovery process of knowing Him together with other believers you relate to, in small and simple settings, and how that can be a great blessing. Many have felt to come to Jesus outside the camps of traditional Church, and yet they are uncertain in how to gather with friends, family, and neighbors, in an environment free from religious aires, man centered controls, and how to focus exclusively on Jesus. If this is something the Lord causes you to desire simply click on the "Contact Us" tab, share what is happening in your area, and let us know how we can help. As He provides time and resources we would love to come and strengthen you in your desire to Know Him Together with others. God bless you, as you grow to know Him.

Jesus promised Nathanael, as a simple brother, and those near him that day, something I believe to be a prototype of relational potential for all of us, and I leave it with you to ponder, long for, and enter into:

John 1:47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him, "Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no deceit!" 48 Nathanael said to him, "How do you know me?" Jesus answered him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you." 49 Nathanael answered him, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!" 50 Jesus answered him, "Because I said to you, 'I saw you under the fig tree,' do you believe? You will see greater things than these." 51 And he said to him , "Truly, truly, I say to you, you (plural - you'all) will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."

Heaven is open to us, and the angels know everything that is important centers on Jesus. Come join us as we learn to enjoy an open heavens focused on Him.  We have specifically created this site to involve you, the reader, so your input is considered valued and desired.  We look forward to your participation in Knowing Him Together.

The Shack

A Novel by

William Paul Young

ImageIf you've not heard of or read "The Shack" you are missing a wonderful experience in renewed intimacy with God.

Here's what some are saying about this book:Image

When the imagination of a writer and the passion of a theologian cross-fertilize the result is a novel on the order of The Shack. This book has the potential to do for our generation what John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress did for his. It’s that good!

Eugene Peterson, Professor Emeritus Of Spiritual Theology,
Regent College, Vancouver, B.C.

Don’t miss this!  If there’s a better book out there capturing God’s engaging nature and His ability to crawl into our darkest nightmare with His love, light and healing, I’ve not seen it. For the most ardent believer or newest spiritual seeker, The Shack is a must-read.

Wayne Jacobsen, author of So You Don’t Want to Go to Church Anymore

If God is all powerful and full of love, why doesn’t He do something about the pain and evil in our world?   This book answers that age old question with startling creativity and staggering clarity.  By far one of the best books I have ever read.

What if much you are doing in Church has little to no biblical precedent? The pastor preaching the sermon, the music director leading worship, the ushers collecting the monthly tithe from the congregation—what if these practices are not as sacred or as biblical as we believe? Should Christians be bound by these traditions? Is the Institutional Church biblically sound? Is there a better model for “doing Church”?

In Pagan Christianity? organic Church planter Frank Viola, along with respected pollster and author George Barna, graciously addresses these provocative questions with significant historical research and careful study of Scripture. Tyndale House Publishers have released this volume under its Barna Books imprint in January 2008, and early buzz indicates that the book will create some definite controversy.  Their intent is to encourage an intensified relational model for Church, that emphasizes greater intimacy between Jesus Christ and the body.

With an introduction and editorial input from George Barna, Pagan Christianity? in some ways serves as a sequel to Barna’s Revolution (Tyndale House Publishers, 2005), in which he presented original research on the contemporary Church landscape and asserted that there are more viable ways of “doing Church” than simply the Institutional model.

Pagan Christianity? takes a more radical stance on the nature of the Institutional Church: “We are . . . making an outrageous proposal: that the Church in its contemporary, Institutional form has neither a biblical nor a historical right to function as it does,” says Viola.

Reviewing a multitude of sources, Viola makes a compelling case for what he argues are dubious traditions within the Institutional Church. He admonishes Christians to abandon what he believes are harmful practices lifted from pagan cultures at various points in the Church’s formation. In each of nine chapters, Viola examines an accepted traditional Church practice, revealing its historical origins and highlighting how he feels the practice detracts from true worship and runs counter to what God desires for his Church.

What, then, are believers to do? In a chapter titled “Reapproaching the New Testament: The Bible Is Not a Jigsaw Puzzle,” Viola offers a remedy to “pagan Christianity” in his articulation of an “organic Church,” which resembles first century-style Christian community life. As Viola explains, “Organic Church life is a grassroots experience that is marked by face-to-face community, every-member functioning, open-participatory meetings, nonhierarchical leadership, and the centrality and supremacy of Jesus Christ as the functional leader and head of the group.”

Whether one agrees or disagrees with Viola’s arguments, Pagan Christianity? is an important book that raises questions about what it means to truly worship God and aims to help Christians avoid mistakes from the past by carefully examining the history of the Church’s formation.

A Q&A section at the end of each chapter addresses readers’ potential concerns, as does a section of “Final Thoughts” at the book’s conclusion. Other appendices include a non-exhaustive “Summary of Origins” and “Key Figures in Church History.” The bibliography suggests Viola’s extensive research.
